BBIX and OEC Sign Business Partnership for Open Connectivity eXchange

BBIX to add OCX connection point to “Oita Data Center”

BBIX, Inc. (“BBIX”), a subsidiary of SoftBank Corp. that operates an Internet Exchange (“IX”) business, has entered into a business partnership agreement with OEC Co., Ltd. (“OEC”) to provide Open Connectivity eXchange (“OCX”), a cloud-based network service. With this partnership agreement, BBIX will add an OCX connection point at “Oita Data Center” (Oita City, Oita Prefecture) on November 1, 2024.

OCX is a cloud-based network service provided by BBIX and BBSakura Networks, Inc. (“BBSakura”), a network solutions provider and subsidiary of BBIX. OCX offers on-demand, highly secure, low-latency, scalable connectivity services to a variety of cloud services and data centers used by customers.

OEC is an Oita-based IT company founded in 1966 as “Oita Electronic Computing Center” and changed its name to the current “OEC Co., Ltd.” in 1990. OEC provides a wide range of IT solutions, including software development, system integration, network construction, and cloud services. In recent years, OEC has also focused on research and development in cutting-edge fields such as AI (Artificial Intelligence), IoT (Internet of Things), and drones by combining OEC’s expertise and technological capabilities cultivated through software development.
