BBIX and OTNet Sign Business Partnership for Open Connectivity eXchange

BBIX to add OCX connection point to “OCT Naha Data Center”

BBIX, Inc. (“BBIX”), a subsidiary of SoftBank Corp. that operates an Internet Exchange (“IX”) business, has entered into a business partnership agreement with OTNet Company Incorporated (“OTNet”), which operates a fiber optic telecommunication business, to provide Open Connectivity eXchange (“OCX”), a cloud-based network service. With this partnership agreement, BBIX will add an OCX connection point at “OCT Naha Data Center*” (Higashimachi, Naha City, Okinawa Prefecture) on November 1, 2024.

OCX is a cloud-based network service provided by BBIX and BBSakura Networks, Inc. (“BBSakura”), a network solutions provider and subsidiary of BBIX. OCX offers on-demand, highly secure, low-latency, scalable connectivity services to a variety of cloud services and data centers used by customers.

Since its establishment in 1996, OTNet has been providing a wide variety of network services ranging from leased lines to cloud computing and AI solutions as a telecommunications carrier in the Okinawa region under the motto of “Connecting Okinawa.” In response to the increasingly diverse needs of customers in the IT and telecommunications fields, OTNet has contributed to the development of life and business in the Okinawa region by improving the quality of its services and going beyond individual service proposals to provide comprehensive solutions centered on optical fiber, telecommunications, RPA, and other services.

By combining BBIX and BBSakura’s secure and high-quality OCX with OTNet’s total solution, BBIX and OTNet will contribute to the promotion of Digital Transformation (DX) and the development of the IT environment in Okinawa Prefecture, aiming to realize an affluent society and create new business value for our customers.
