BBIX and BBSakura Launch “OCX Hikari Private”

Internet access service connecting OCX network and fiber optic network

BBIX, Inc. (“BBIX”), a subsidiary of SoftBank Corp. that operates an Internet Exchange (IX) business, and BBSakura Networks, Inc. (“BBSakura”), a network solutions provider and subsidiary of BBIX, will launch “OCX Hikari Private”, an Internet access service for the Open Connectivity eXchange (“OCX”) cloud-based network service, on March 5, 2024.

“OCX Hikari Private” is an Internet access service that uses fiber optic network of the Hikari Collaboration scheme provided by Nippon Telegraph and Telephone East Corporation (“NTT East”) and Nippon Telegraph and Telephone West Corporation (“NTT West”).

With the diversification of work styles, there is a growing need for a secure connection between a company’s headquarters and other locations, as well as the homes of telecommuting employees, in a cloud environment. “OCX Hikari Private” enables customers to make a closed connection from the FLET’S networks of NTT East and NTT West to OCX network, and use cloud services in a highly secure and low cost closed network environment.

BBIX and BBSakura will continue to improve OCX services to meet the diversifying cloud connectivity needs of customers.
