BBIX to Launch Four New Open Connectivity eXchange Connection Points
at SoftBank’s Data and Network Center Locations
BBIX, Inc. (“BBIX”), a subsidiary of SoftBank Corp. (“SoftBank”) that operates an Internet Exchange (“IX”) business, will launch four new Open Connectivity eXchange (“OCX”) connection points at four data and network center locations operated by SoftBank, with two located in eastern Japan (Koto-ku, Tokyo and Saitama City, Saitama) and two in western Japan (Osaka City, Osaka and Kizugawa City, Kyoto), on March 1, 2024.
OCX is a cloud-based network service provided on BBIX’s IX platform. OCX provides on-demand, highly secure, low-latency, scalable connectivity services to a variety of cloud services and data centers used by customers.
With the addition of the new connection points, customers will be able to connect to OCX from SoftBank locations, making it easier for them to use a secure, high-quality closed connectivity environment.
BBIX will continue to contribute by building a high-quality network that supports the expansion of cloud computing use, and will strive to expand its services to accelerate customers’ DX (Digital Transformation), create new businesses, and achieve business growth.
