BBIX and HISS Sign Business Partnership Agreement in Data Center Connectivity Field
～HISS’s “HISS FIT-iDC” to be BBIX’s first Open Connectivity eXchange (“OCX”) connection point in Hokuriku area～
BBIX, Inc. (“BBIX”), a subsidiary of SoftBank Corp. that operates an Internet Exchange (“IX”) business, has entered into a business partnership agreement with Hokuden Information System Service Company,Inc. (“HISS”) in the field of data center connectivity, and on August 1, 2023, BBIX will add HISS’s FIT-iDC (Toyama) as its first Open Connectivity eXchange (“OCX”) connection point.
OCX is a cloud-based network service provided by BBIX and BBSakura Networks, Inc. (“BBSakura”), a network solutions provider and subsidiary of BBIX. OCX provides on-demand, highly secure, low-latency, scalable connectivity services to a variety of cloud services and data centers used by customers.
Since its establishment, HISS has been taking on challenges in business innovation, facility construction, and operation for many customers, including Hokuriku Electric Power Company Group, as a comprehensive information service provider. The FIT-iDC, where BBIX will open an OCX connection point, is located in Toyama Prefecture, which has few earthquakes and is close to metropolitan areas, as well as a low disaster risk profile in terms of facilities and location.
By combining BBIX and BBSakura’s secure and high-quality OCX with HISS’s diverse telecommunication services, which has over 30 years of experience and reliability, BBIX will contribute to customers by creating new businesses and improving management efficiencies.
BBIX and BBSakura, together with HISS, will work to expand services to help customers accelerate DX (Digital Transformation) and grow their businesses, and contribute to the realization of an affluent society where people can experience the joy of being connected.
