BBIX to Launch New IX Point “BBIX Osaka No.7” at Digital Edge’s “OSA1” Data Center
～BBIX establishes seventh connection point in Osaka area to provide IX service from March, 2023～
BBIX, Inc. (“BBIX”), a subsidiary of SoftBank Corp. that conducts an Internet eXchange (IX) business, will open “BBIX Osaka No. 7” at “OSA1,” operated by Digital Edge (Japan) G.K. (“Digital Edge”) in Osaka, to provide “IX Connect Service” from March 2023.
BBIX operates six IX connection points in the Osaka metropolitan area. In light of the growing demand for Internet interconnection in the Kansai area, BBIX selected Digital Edge’s “OSA1” data center to launch “BBIX Osaka No. 7.” The “OSA1” data center is carrier-neutral, scalable, and is located in Osaka Business Park, which is close to the core network center of western Japan.
By providing IX services at “BBIX Osaka No. 7,” BBIX will contribute to realizing efficient Internet connectivity and high-quality communications, and revitalize Internet traffic exchange in the Kansai area.
