BBIX Launches “Open Connectivity eXchange”

～Network Cloud Service based on BBIX’s IX platform～

BBIX, Inc. (“BBIX”), a subsidiary of SoftBank Corp. that conducts an Internet eXchange (IX) business, and BBSakura Networks (“BBSakura”), a network solutions operator and subsidiary of BBIX, Inc., launched a new service, Open Connectivity eXchange (“OCX”) on May 30, 2022.

OCX is a cloud-based network service provided on BBIX’s IX platform. OCX provides on-demand, highly secure, low latency, scalable connectivity services to a variety of cloud services and data centers used by customers via a dedicated customer portal. This eliminates the need to purchase and maintain data center network equipment, thereby reducing procurement and maintenance costs.

OCX will first open connection sites in four data centers in Tokyo to provide Data Center Interconnect (“DCI”) between sites and connections to various cloud services. BBIX already supports high-capacity communications between enterprises, including OnePort Multi-Cloud Access of SoftBank Corp. and connections to the backbone network of IDC Frontier Inc.

BBIX will build a network cloud infrastructure to support regional DX (Digital Transformation) by developing a closed network and cloud access points over networked BBIX IX infrastructure to support the communication environment in the multi-cloud era.
