BBIX to Launch New IX Point “BBIX San Jose” in Silicon Valley
BBIX, Inc. (“BBIX”), a subsidiary of SoftBank Corp. that conducts an Internet Exchange (IX) business, today announced the launch of a new IX point in Silicon Valley (USA), “BBIX San Jose,” that will start operations and provide “Smart IX” from December 2021.
Compared to other cities in California’s Silicon Valley, San Jose has numerous large-scale data centers with rich interconnectivity, where many content service providers and IT companies come to connect and exchange traffic. By using “Smart IX” at “BBIX San Jose,” users can connect and exchange traffic with over 300 other BBIX users connected to “BBIX San Jose” as well as other BBIX-operated IX points.*
By operating “BBIX San Jose” as a hub to connect the West Coast of the USA and Japan, BBIX will strive to provide a stable connectivity environment to customers globally.
*Customers will need to apply separately for Optional Services.
