BBIX Launches New IX Point “BBIX Osaka No.3” at NTT SmartConnect’s Dojima Data Center
– Company establishes second IX connection point in Dojima area to provide IX service –
BBIX, Inc. (“BBIX”) a subsidiary of SoftBank Corp. that conducts an Internet eXchange (IX) business, will open “BBIX Osaka No.3” in the “Dojima Data Center (Building No.2)” (Kita-ku, Osaka) of NTT SMARTCONNECT CORPORATION (“NTT SmartConnect”) to provide “IX Connect Service” (“IX Service”) from April 2020.
Following installation in “BBIX Osaka No.1” (NTT DATA Dojima Building), by installing “BBIX OSAKA No.3” in the Data Center of NTT SmartConnect, more Content Service Providers and Internet Service Providers in the Kansai region will be able to use BBIX services more easily with Optical Cabling Service (“Dojima Connect”) between buildings in the Dojima area provided by NTT SmartConnect.
The Dojima area, where “BBIX Osaka No.1” and “BBIX Osaka No.3” are located, has attracted many operators, and BBIX will provide low-latency and high-quality IX service to Service Providers that have nodes at the Dojima area by realizing smooth and stable traffic exchange.
With the increased spread of cloud services, faster access lines, and the expansion of operator-specific network operations, the interconnection of Internet operators is becoming increasingly important. In the Osaka area, BBIX will solve local connectivity issues by pro-actively providing IX services, realizing efficient connections between service users and contributing to enhanced connection quality and reduced costs.
