BBIX Signs Business Partnership with MIC to Provide OCX Cloud-based Network Service

BBIX to add OCX connection point at MIC’s secure and robust data center

BBIX, Inc. (“BBIX”), a subsidiary of SoftBank Corp. that operates an Internet Exchange (“IX”) business, has entered into a business partnership agreement with Minaminihon Information Processing Center Co., Ltd. (“MIC”) to provide Open Connectivity eXchange (“OCX”), a cloud-based network service. With this partnership agreement, BBIX will add an OCX connection point at “MIC Kagoshima Data Center” (Kagoshima City) on March 1, 2025.

OCX is a cloud-based network service provided by BBIX and BBSakura Networks, Inc. (“BBSakura”), a network solutions provider and subsidiary of BBIX. OCX offers on-demand, highly secure, low-latency, scalable connectivity services to a variety of cloud services and data centers used by customers.

MIC is an information services company established in 1969. MIC provides cloud services and housing services to private companies, governments, and medical institutions. As a partner supporting the promotion of DX (Digital Transformation), MIC provides consistent services from consulting to operational support, and contributes to the development of a digital society in all of Southern Kyushu by focusing on the development of new services utilizing AI (Artificial Intelligence) and IoT (Internet of Things). Furthermore, with the MIC Kagoshima Data Center at its core, MIC has developed a data center business equipped with advanced security and robust facilities to provide customers with a one-stop service for planning, development, operation, and maintenance of their systems. In addition, as a member of the NEC Information Service Business Group (NEC-NET Group), MIC is able to provide total IT (information technology) solutions through collaboration among group companies, including high value-added software development and data center collaboration by combining the strengths of each group company. By maximizing the benefits of collaboration among group companies, MIC will increase customer satisfaction and support business expansion.

The combination of MIC’s data center business with the high-quality, secure OCX provided by BBIX and BBSakura will contribute to the promotion of DX in local communities and the realization of a sustainable society.
