BBIX, BBSakura Networks and Marunouchi Direct Access Launch the One-Stop Package Menu of Access Line on OCX in Otemachi, Marunouchi and Yurakucho Area

BBIX, Inc. (“BBIX”), a subsidiary of SoftBank Corp. that operates an Internet Exchange (IX) business, and Marunouchi Direct Access Ltd. (“MDA”), have established an “Open Connectivity eXchange” (“OCX”) connection site provided by BBIX at the “MDA Otemachi Data Center” in November 2022.

In order to further expand the service, BBIX, BBSakura Networks, Inc. (“BBSakura”), a network solutions provider and subsidiary of BBIX, and MDA will offer a one-stop package plan (“Access Line powered by MDA”) that provides multi-cloud connectivity and Internet access* via OCX from office buildings in the Otemachi, Marunouchi and Yurakucho areas (“Daimaru-Yu area”) with quick delivery, ease of use and low cost. Applications will also be accepted starting today.

This package plan frees customers from the lengthy order-to-open process and complex design required to build large-scale corporate networks. In addition, customers will be able to use a highly secure, low-latency, and scalable private connectivity service through an easy-to-use customer portal.

This package plan was developed by combining the technologies of three companies: BBIX and BBSakura, which jointly develop and provide “OCX”, the cloud-based network service, and MDA, which provides ultra-urban data centers and optical fiber for secure, high-speed communications in the “Daimaru-Yu area”. MDA’s optical fiber network covers most of the buildings owned by Mitsubishi Estate and the package plan will be available to provide the most network environment at Torch Tower, scheduled for completion in 2027, which will be the tallest building in Japan, as well as other Mitsubishi Estate redevelopment buildings in the area.

With the current demand for high-capacity data communication due to the diversification of work styles, BBIX, BBSakura and MDA intend to contribute to the promotion of DX (Digital Transformation) of each company and region of Japan by seamlessly connecting central office districts with remote locations and cloud environments via a private connection network.

BBIX, BBSakura and MDA will work together with companies in the Daimaru area to accelerate DX to create a better society and future, and contribute to the growth strategies of service users.
