BBIX Launches New IX Point “BBIX Osaka No. 6” at Equinix’s “OS3” Data Center
～BBIX establishes sixth IX connection point in Osaka area to provide IX service～
BBIX, Inc. (“BBIX”) a subsidiary of SoftBank Corp. that conducts an Internet eXchange (IX) business, will open “BBIX Osaka No. 6” in “OS3” operated by Equinix Japan K.K. in Osaka to provide “IX Connect Service” from July 04, 2022.
Osaka is one of Japan’s leading major cities, and it has become a place where major content providers and Internet service providers (ISPs) in Japan and overseas come to connect and exchange traffic to improve their services in Asia. By using IX services at BBIX Osaka No. 6, users can connect and exchange traffic with over 90 other BBIX users connected to “BBIX Osaka No. 6” as well as other BBIX-operated IX points.
With the spread of cloud services, the acceleration of Internet access lines, and the expansion of insourcing network operations, the importance of interconnection at IX points is increasing. Through the provision of “IX Connect Service” at “BBIX Osaka No. 6,” BBIX will continue to strive to provide efficient and enriched interconnectivity to customers as well as reduce costs.
